3000 families leave Daraa due to Assad forces shelling

Daraa (Syria News) More than three thousand families were displaced from the cities and towns located in the eastern countryside of Daraa, due to the aerial and rocket shelling that were carried out by Assad security forces in the area.

Enab Baladi News reported that the displaced families went toward the towns of Maraba, Ghasm, Kharba, al-Musaifera, Umm al-Mayazin, al-Taiba, Saida, Nseeb, al-Jiza, al-Ghariyah al-Sharkiya and al-Mataeya.

Head of Local Council in Tell Shehab, Youssef Mahmoud Hashish, said that the areas located in the eastern countryside of Daraa are witnessing large displacement movements, due to the ongoing shelling on the area.

A part of the IDPs resorted to the civilians’ houses and some schools, while the majority of them are calling for aid and camps, he added.

It is noteworthy that the cities and towns of the eastern countryside of Daraa are witnessing heavy shelling by Assad forces, coinciding with the latter’s offensives to recapture the opposition-held areas.
