(Syria News) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, on Saturday, that 90 fighters were killed, including 60 members of the Free Syrian Army, since the launch of the military Operation (Olive Branch Offensive) in Affrin area.
In a speech in Afyoun Province, Erdogan added that the number of the Turkish soldiers killed in battles reached half the number of the killed members of the Free Syrian Army.
Furthermore, Turkish President considered the Olive Branch Offensive as a step toward maintaining the national security in Turkey.
Erdogan also explained that the Turkish army in Affrin managed to impose its control on an area of 300 square meters, while pointed out that the operation is close to victory.
It is noteworthy that more than 20 thousand fighters of the Free Syrian Army are participating in Affrin offensive, alongside the Turkish army.
The Turkish offensive in Affrin was launched in January this year, codenamed Olive Branch Offensive, while Turkey announced that its forces have killed more than 1000 terrorists during the operations.
Meanwhile, Kurdish People Protection Units militia (YPG) announced killing several members of the Turkish army and Free Syrian Army, this is in addition to shooting down a helicopter in Rajo area, west of Affrin.
