Homs (Syria News) The Islamic State group continue launching separate attacks on the regime forces headquarters, located near the area of Hamima and Sadd al-Waer, in the Syrian Desert.
The Palymera News Agency reported that the Islamic State attacked military reinforcement belonging to the army’s 9th brigade using explosives, near Sadd Ewirad area in the vicinity of Hamima area, destroying a military vehicle and a tank.
The attacks of the Islamic State increased since early June, when dozens of the radical group fighters crossed from the eastern banks of the Euphrates River to the western banks, reported the Syrian Advisory for Human Rights.
The SOHR also documented that the death toll among the ranks of the two sides exceeded 30 persons; however, these numbers could not be confirmed by any other sources.
Meanwhile, the regime forces and their allied militias managed to capture four strategic areas, including: Be’r Atshan, Abar al-Wark, Wadi al-Louisa and Tel Shadid.
It is noteworthy that both Hamima and Sadd al-Waer witnessed several attacks by the Islamic State on the regime forces and allied militias, resulting in the killing of dozens of fighters.
