Homs (Syria News) Sources belong to Hezbollah militias in Lebanon informed, on Saturday, that over 30 militants were either killed or wounded in an Islamic State group offensive, in the eastern countryside of Homs, Qasioun News reported.
The sources revealed that more than 10 of its militants were killed and over 20 others were wounded in an offensive carried out by the Islamic State group on the city of Sukhna, in the eastern countryside of Homs, while also published the names and pictures of the killed militants.
Meanwhile, the Islamic State militants carried out a fierce offensive on the Syrian army forces and their allied militias in the city of al-Qaryateen, in the eastern countryside of Homs, where violent clashes broke out between both sides in the city.
Furthermore, pro-regime media sources suggested that the Islamic State offensive was carried out by its sleeper cells, due to the long distance between the city and T3 Airbase, which is now controlled by the Islamic State.
Earlier today, the Islamic State group announced killing dozens of Syrian army soldiers and their allied militias in a recent assault, where the Islamic State was able to cut Deir Ezzor-Palmyra road.
It is noteworthy that the Syrian army forces, backed up by Russian warplanes, managed to recapture the city of Palmyra last March, in their attempt to continue the assault to recapture the city of Sukhna.
