Homs (Syria News) The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported, on Wednesday, that clashes broke out in the vicinity of Mrimin checkpoint, in the northern countryside of Homs, while the regime forces carried out heavy shelling on al-Houla area.
The London-based observatory stated that clashes broke out between the Syrian rebels, backed by Islamic factions (Ahrar al-Sham) and regime forces, backed by foreign militias, resulting in the killing of a member of the regime forces and an Islamic fighter, north of Homs.
Furthermore, Islamic factions shelled the Mrimin checkpoint, which belongs to the regime forces, while the latter carried out heavy shelling on areas in al-Houla area, in the northern countryside of Homs Province; however, no casualties were reported.
Meanwhile, Ahrar al-Sham’s media outlets published images of their clashes with the regime forces, while they were attacking Syrian Army headquarters with machine guns and mortar missiles.
It is noteworthy that the town of al-Houla is located within the Rastan area, a militant-held area in northern Homs Province.
