Rockets shelling on regime-held area in Quneitra leaving over 13 casualties

Quneitra (Syria News) The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed, on Tuesday, that several explosions hit areas in the regime-controlled city of al-Baath, in central Quneitra Province.

The SOHR reported, today, that a number of blasts hit the city of Baath, in the center of Quneitra Province, which is controlled by the regime forces, caused by the rockets shelling.

The attack resulted in the injury of about 13 persons, in addition to inflecting material damage to a hospital in the city. The shelling was followed by shelling by the regime forces on Jubata al-Khashab Town in the countryside of the province, killing a child and wounding others.

On 13 November 2012, during the Syrian Civil War, President Bashar al-Assad issued a decree to establish a branch of the University of Damascus in Quneitra. In 2013, Quneitra border crossing was attacked by Opposition forces and temporarily occupied, with Syrian army later retaking the crossing, while later in the same year, opposition forces attacked a military checkpoint in the province and recaptured the crossing.
