Hama (Syria News) The Russian army aviation has intensified its air strikes on the villages and towns in Al-Ghab Plain area, located in the countryside of Hama and Idlib, after the arrival of the of the eastern Ghouta evacuees to the region, Enab Baladi News reported on Saturday.
The Russian aviation, using thermobaric rockets, attacked a number of bridges in Al-Ghab Plain, including the bridges of al-Jayed, al-Shariyah and al-Tawinah. The air strikes also hit the vicinity of al-Tawinah Village in Al-Ghab Plain.
Russia pointed out that the air strikes on the cities and towns of the Syrian north were carried out due to the presence of Nusra Front in the area, despite the inclusion of the area in the de-escalation agreement.
Meanwhile in Idlib, Russian warplanes attacked the cities of Ariha and al-Dana with air strikes, in addition to targeting the city of Jisr al-Shaghour with three air strikes. The air strikes coincided with the arrival of the seventh batch of the eastern Ghouta evacuates to the Qal’et al-Madiq area, east of Hama.
The air strikes were carried out after news about the intention of Assad forces to launch an offensive to recapture the area of Al-Ghab Plain.
In a report released last January, the United Nations warned of the civilians’ humanitarian situation in the countryside of Hama and Idlib, due to the shelling carried out by Assad troops and their allied militias.
