SDF advances into Deir Ezzor and reaches the city's outskirts

Deir Ezzor (Syria News) The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed by the US-led Coalition troops, on Sunday, advanced into the city of Deir Ezzor and reached the industrial zone area, located a few Kilometers east of Deir Ezzor.

Qasioun News reported that the SDF militia managed to capture the villages of al-Arabidi, al-Malah and al-Ajief hills, northeast of Deir Ezzor, after fierce clashes with the Islamic State militants, amid heavy artillery and rockets shelling on the IS-held areas in the region.

The Syrian Democratic Forces militia are now few kilometers away from the areas recaptured by the regime forces and its allied militias, after breaking the seige imposwd by the Islamic State militants on the city, the news portal added.

Noteworthy, SDF militia launched early this week a military operation, codenamed “Jazeera Storm”, in order to recapture the areas located northeast of Deir Ezzor countryside.
