Aleppo (Syria News) Syrian regime forces and their allied militias continue advancing in the southern countryside of Aleppo, while managed to force the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham militia (HTS) to withdraw from the area, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Sunday.

The SOHR revealed that the HTS has withdrawn from several villages and towns, in the southern countryside of Aleppo, while regime forces were able to make a significant advance in the area and expanded their control and recaptured 79 villages and towns, including the towns of al-Hajib and Tal al-Daman.

Thus, Syrian regime forces have expanded their control in the southern countryside of Aleppo, and recaptured 115 towns and villages in total, which were successively recaptured after the withdrawal of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham from the area.

Yesterday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the advancement achieved by the regime forces, in the southern countryside of Aleppo towards the eastern countryside of Idlib and Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase, lessened the distance between the advanced forces and the other forces located in the eastern countryside of Idlib.

Meanwhile, military operations in the area have resulted in the displacement of thousands of citizens from their villages and houses, towards areas far from the shelling in the western countryside of Aleppo.
