Hasakah (Syria News) The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported, on Tuesday, that the city of al-Hasakah is witnessing an escalated tension between the Kurdish forces and Syrian regime forces amid a state of alert in the city.

The London-based Observatory revealed that tension escalated between the Kurdish forces and the Syrian regime troops after mutual detentions between the both sides, where 3 members of the regime forces were arrested at the northern entrance of the city of al-Hasakah, while one member of the Kurdish forces was arrested in the center of the city.

Furthermore, both parties mobilized their troops after the wave of arrests, while the elder residents of the city were trying to de-escalate the situation and prevent any further fights, as happened earlier in the city.

It is noteworthy that in August 2016, clashes broke out in the city of al-Hasakah between Asayish (a Kurdish security organization and a primary intelligence agency operating in the Kurdistan region) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) after a small battle, where both sides claimed to advance.
