Idlib (Syria News) Three civilians, including a child, were killed by the Turkish Gendarmerie fire, while they were trying to cross from Darkoush area, in the countryside of Idlib, to the Turkish territory.
Enab Baladi news reported, today, that the members of the Turkish Gendarmerie shot three Syrian civilians, including a female 10-year old child, while they were trying to cross the borders to Turkey.
It added that the casualties were attacked near the area of Darkoush, north of Idlib, inside the Syrian borders near the Turkish city of Antakia.
Darkoush is a touristic area in Idlib, where many smuggling operations are taking place due to its proximity to the borders. Also, Syrians are trying to cross to Turkey, as the only safe haven for them, to escape from Assad forces in Idlib Province.
In early July, the Syrian opposition captured a smuggler on charges of three persons, near the town of Darkoush, and was executed by Tahrir al-Sham militia.
It is noteworthy that Syrians are making daily attempts to cross “illegally” to Turkey, after the latter made it a mandatory for Syrians to obtain a visa to enter the country, since early January 2016.
