Raqqa (Syria News) A curfew was imposed in the city of Raqqa, on Sunday, after a number of unidentified persons attacked a group of citizens using a grenade in the center of the SDF-held city.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that an explosion was heard in the city of Raqqa, caused by a grenade that was thrown by unidentified persons on a gathering of citizens in the area of Seif al-Dawla in the center of the city.

A curfew was imposed on the city by the Internal Security Forces after the incident, amid resentment prevailing among the citizens against the conscription service processes, where dozens of young men were taken from the city and its countryside in the past 72 hours.

Last week, dozens of people held a demonstration in al-Rumaila neighborhood, in the city of Raqqa, calling for the departure of the Syrian Democratic Forces from the city. Raqqa also witnessed a state of tension in the past few days, where several demonstration was held against the SDF in the areas of al-Mashlab and al-Rumaila, in the eastern and northeastern outskirts of Raqqa.

The tension escalated after the arrival of the Internal Security Forces and Syrian Democratic Forces in the area of the demonstration, and arresting a number of demonstrators in the city.
