Aleppo (Syria News) The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) launched new attacks against the Free Syrian Army and Turkish troops in Afrin area, in the countryside of Aleppo.
In a press statement released by the media office of the YPG, the Kurdish militia revealed the details of offensives carried out in Afrin in the second week of July.
The offensives started when the PG troops planted a landmine on a military road used by the Free Syrian Army and Turkish troops in Basela Village, killing 8 Turkish soldiers and wounding two others.
The second offensive was conducted in Kimara Village, in the countryside of Afrin, where the YPG militants attacked a Turkish vehicle using an IED, killing one Turkish soldier and two members of the FSA.
In the last few months, Afrin witnessed several blasts and assassinations against security forces and civilians, killing dozens of people.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army has fully captured the city of Afrin, after advancing into it against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units.
